Commercials
- "Standing Again" "The Mirror"
Client - Standing Together Against Rape (STAR)
Location - Anchorage, Alaska

Rape is one of the most devastating things that can happen to a life. So it was an honor for us here at Alaskan Nomad to team up with the Anchorage Chapter of Standing Together Against Rape (STAR) to do these commercials, free of charge.

Though for the same cause, the two commercials in this series could not be more different in tone. "Standing Together" centers on a victim of rape and her recovery through help, compassion and community.

"The Mirror", shot in grainy, overexposed Black and White, finds a man examining himself the day after having committed a rape.

These commercials were just recently completed, and we're happy to report that the story doesn't stop there. Some great news came to us the other day here at Alaskan Nomad. According to a statement from a STAR Spokesperson, these commercials were “instrumental in helping STAR secure a generous $10,000.00 grant from Wells Fargo Bank.” Way to go STAR. We couldn't be happier.

We’d like to thank STAR for the opportunity to help a cause in which we truly believe. We’d also like to give Wells Fargo Bank huge kudos for stepping up to the plate and doing their part.

Special thanks to everyone who helped to make these commercials the huge success they have become... including sound engineer Charlie Hewitt at Mirror Studios, casting agent Grace Olrund at Cupik Warrior Productions, and all of the actors who showed up and donated their time and talent.
